No place like home for the holidays

But I hate it when some people try to rush some of our most cherished holiday traditions.
(They could at least wait until Thanksgiving before assaulting family members and loved ones with seasonal foods.)

Draft pick

U.S. Senate candidate and Boston Celtics honcho Steve Paglicua, who is running for Democratic nomination for the late Ted Kennedy's seat, is getting batted around for what appears to be his own confusion about the military draft. First he was for it, then he was against it. (Is he channeling John Kerry, here? Or, as Jonny Most would have said: "First… Continue

A turkey of a series

The horror, the horror, um, not so much

Of the many examples of American cultural imperialism (blue jeans, Starbucks, Miley Cyrus) that drive European opinion makers to distraction, few compare to the Americanized celebration of Halloween. Damian Thompson, the blogs editor of the London Daily Telegraph, provides a good example here of their complaints. But, not to worry. Americans, showing… Continue

Hi Tom, enjoyed your article today on THE conversion. HOwever, i've noticed nobody ever mentions that you can still use your old unconverted televisions for playing videos, dvds, and video games on.
Good writing TOm. Oh, i sure wish the Sun Chronicle would go to a magazine style newspaper. isnt the 3' X 3' format gonna be obsolete? YOu do it with the 'GO' section on Thursdays. Really i am tired of struggling with these giant sheets of newspaper on the couch and in restaurants. I usually buy the Boston Herald. Just a thought. BOB
