When I was just a "boy with a horn" -- about 10 -- I was introduced to the cornet. At a time when most of my musically-conscious friends wanted to be the next
John Lennon, I wanted to be the next
Louis Armstrong. Two things were markedly different about us, however: pigmentation and talent.
Nevertheless, jazz has held a long-term fascination for me and after 30 years of jobs, kids and houses, I'm finally back where I started--playing in three bands that perform various kinds of jazz. You'll find my Dixieland and New Orleans jazz band at
