In 2008, with Matt Cassel under center the Patriots were also 9-5 at the same juncture. Certainly there have been personnel changes that have affected b…

In 2009 the New England Patriots, a team some considered to be the AFC favorites, have won two in a row to improve to 9-5, have opened up a two game lead over both the Jets and the Dolphins, and are now in a position to win the division. Who is the most overrated player on the 2009 squad? In no particular ord…

Heading into week 14 in 2009 the New England Patriots are 7-5 with Tom Brady at quarterback. In 2008, with Matt Cassel under center the Patriots were also 7-5 at the same juncture. Certainly there have been personnel changes that have affected both the offense and defense, but for the purpose of QB compariso…

Although many fans focused on Wes Welker's 15 catches for 192 yards, in the end it was Sun Chronicle Assistant Sports Editor/Columnist Mark Farinella who stole the afternoon at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA.
Farinella established a 2009 NFL high for most
in-game blog posts by entering 25, bettering…

The information I posted about the 2008 high school Superbowl game times and locations that Mark Farinella is referring to came directly off the MIAA site. As soon as I was made aware of the changes I re-posted. I believe the Sun Chronicle recently errored in the same manner with the Patriots game time in London and Farinella posted a blog to clear up the confusion.
IT happens!

I was told when I was old enough to eat at restaurants myself that the proper tip for a waiter/waitress who performs his or her duties was 15%... I was also told that a tip’s origin dates back to when someone wanted to “insure proper service” they would tip before the meal. I believe now, an…

In his recent blog post "Bonus thoughts from the shores of Lake Massapoag", Mark Farinella stated
"...my experience tells me that programs that never have a chance to win don't grow and prosper, and one of the points of interscholastic athletics is to encourage participation." Huh? Great logic 'Fearless"-- On one hand you are saying that a team that continually finishes in the bottom of the standings will never grow and prosper. Huh again? I've seen many teams turn around in many differen…
