There has been a marked change in the direction and tone of Sen. John McCain's candidacy since lieutenants of Karl Rove have taken over his campaign.
McCain has gotten nastier and his legendary "straight talk" has become a lot more crooked.
For instance, he has falsely claimed that Barack Obama cancelled a visit with troops because he was not allowed to bring television cameras. Obama never intended to bring cameras.
McCain has outrageously claimed that Obama was willing to lose the war in order to win the election.
Although Obama is suppose to be the audacious one in the campaign, McCain made the wild claim that Obama was responsible for high gasoline prices because he opposes off-shore oil drilling.
McCain has been in Washington since 1982 and had always opposed off-shore oil drilling himself - until he found himself trailing in the polls.
The Arizona Republican has also accused Obama of flipflopping on issues even though during the campaign McCain has changed his positions on oil drilling, higher taxes on Social Security, overturning Roe v. Wade, comprehensive immigration reform and a slew of other issues.
McCain the presidential candidate actually came out in opposition to an immigration bill co-sponsored by McCain the senator.
