A group is running television ads attempting to scare people into opposing President Barack Obama's health care reforms and a Republican consultant is urging GOP member of Congress to take a similar tact.
The ad quotes a Canadian and Englishman warning about the deadly impact of having bureaucrats ration health care and make medical decisions instead of doctors. Of course, they are talking about the systems in their countries, not the Obama plan.
They can't talk abotu the Obama plan because he has not proposed one yet.
All of the proposals that were floated during the presidential campaign dealt with extending insurance to more people. There was never a plan for the government to run the medical system.
The administration and Congress are considering ideas similar to what Massachusetts adopted a few years ago.
There is no government rationing of health care in Massachusetts.
But, opponents know it is never too early to use scare tactics.
Oh, by the way, the Republican consultant is Frank Luntz, who also works for Fox News, the Fair and Balance network.

There you go again. What does your statement (below) have to do with so called scare tactics?
"Oh, by the way, the Democrat consultant is John Stewart, who also works for Comedy Central, the hard news network." oops I think I messed up the quote

You're absolutely right. There is no plan, but we're going to go for it anyway. Close Gitmo...no follow-up plan, appropriate hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out the banks, and stimulate the economy...all without a plan. That money is all gone! Most thinking folks believe this will be neatly tucked into the budget without debate. That's the point of the opposition...there is no plan. The system in MA not working. Why should anyone be forced to purchase health-care instead of food? Let them make the choice.
Nationalized health care has never worked. This is a huge issue. Under the US Constitution, we are allowed equal rights, not equal outcome.
