President Barack Obama has been handed a nearly unprecedented series of crises since moving into the White House and the American public seems to like the way he is handing things.
A series of polls out this week as Obama approaches his 100th day in office tells the tale.
ABC puts his job approval rating at 68 percent to 26 percent disapproving. Fox News puts the spread at 62-29.
Real Clear Politics averages seven major polls and comes up with a mark of 62 percent approval versus 30 percent disapproval.
Obama's personal approval rating is even higher than his job approval. Most polls put it at above 70 percent.
One of the more telling findings - as has been mentioned before - is the optimism that Obama seems to be bringing to the nation.
The most recent poll by ABC found that 50 percent believe the country is heading in the right direction. The figure was 19 percent in January.
One of the most encouraging findings in the polls is the high esteem voters have for Obama's integrity.
Seventy four percent in the ABC poll said he was honest and trustworthy.
The news comes as Obama is juggling the financial crisis, the recession, two wars, a swine flu outbreak, pirates, and trouble with Iran and North Korea.

Anne: Yup...when forced into a category individuals will pick 1 or the other. The poll I cited was only those with strong opinions only. Strong opinions can be an indicator of action. The combination of inflation and unemployment will be the breaking point when they team up towards the end of the year. At that time the strong negatives (unless we are totally buffaloed) will be nearing 50%. There's no way out now without a major shift. If we stop spending today, the government will still fail. The choice then may be a choice between anarchy and tyranny.

According to information provided by Gallup.com (read the entire report there):

Obama's weekly job approval ratings in the Gallup Poll have been running at 61% or better since he took office, and register 65% at the conclusion of his first 100 days. According to a recent Gallup review of the average first-quarter approval ratings of all elected presidents since Dwight Eisenhower in 1953, Obama's mid-60s approval level is solidly positive, although not extraordinary in historical terms.

The new president's approval rating at the 100-day mark is notable in that nearly all major demographic categories of Americans are pleased with his job performance, as evidenced by approval ratings above the majority level. Only in terms of political and ideological categories does Obama have a significant proportion of detractors; a majority of Republicans and self-described "conservatives" disapprove of his job performance.

As of 2-May Rasmussen has Obama's "Strongly Approve", at 33%, with a "Strongly Dissaprove" at 32%. Citing bias polling by the media rather than a polling concern is of no use. He's getting dangerously close to becoming mortal, as buyer's remorse sets in, and otherwise non-activists are speaking their minds. Remember the Tea party concept, though a grass roots effort, was conceived at CNBC, not FOX news. We're not nuts or outlaws as has been portrayed by this administration as well as the press, but we have found voices, which will not be silenced. I suggest you start doing some reporting, instead of another propaganda outfit. I honestly don't know how you folks sleep at night.
