Got this e-mail a few minutes ago and figured it was a worthy cause to be passed along to the blogosphere:

Gillette Stadium Hosts American Cancer Society’s Sixth Annual Relay For Life® of Greater Foxboro on June 19-20, 2009

Event is only one of its kind this year to be hosted at an NFL stadium

WHAT: The sixth annual Relay For Life of Greater Foxboro is the only Relay event in the country this year to be hosted at the stadium of a professional sports team. Some 600 walkers from the Foxboro and surrounding communities will have the opportunity to camp out overnight on the field of Gillette Stadium while helping to raise nearly $150,000. Funds help the American Cancer Society save lives and create more birthdays by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.

The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation has provided complete support to the event and generously donated utilities, security, the use of the electronic message boards, passes to The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon, and a fully catered dinner in the Fidelity Clubhouse for all attending cancer survivors.

Relay For Life is a team event where participants walk around a track in relay-style shifts to celebrate the hope that cancer will be beaten. Team members take turns circling the stadium throughout the day and night, enjoying ceremonies, great food, entertainment, and camaraderie as they camp out and cheer one another on during the fun-filled event.
