The great Ray Conniff, a native of Attleboro Massachusetts, was one of the 10 biggest album-sellers of all time and had a career that stretched over 60 years. Yet Conniff, a veteran of the Big Band era, was known more for his choral versions of contemporary hits than his trombone-playing. Conniff, who displayed rare power and refinement in his playing, takes a pass at the old New Orleans jazz standard on a Brazilian TV show in 1995.
